Moisturiser Recipe
It’s good fun, very easy, and the best part is that you will know exactly what you’re putting on your skin.
Ingredients:
- 200ml Sweet Almond Oil
- 400g Organic Shea Butter
- 200g Coconut Oil
- 10ml of your favourite essential oil
Instructions:
1. Melt all the ingredients except the essential oil together gently. The best thing to use is a double boiler, or glass bowl over a pot of water on the stove.
Once melted (try to not let it get hot, just warm enough to melt), add the essential oil and stir thoroughly. Leave to sit for half an hour, then when it is room temperature, pop it in the freezer.
Check every ten minutes, and give it a stir each time.
Once it is cool, and firm but not hard, take it out of the freezer.
Beat it with electric beaters until it is fluffy. You may find it sticks to the sides of the bowl, in this case just sit the bowl in a shallow sink of hot water for ten seconds, then use a spatula to scrape the sides of the bowl and beat again - keep doing this until you have a consistent, fluffy mixture throughout.
Prepare your containers, whether carefully cleaned jars you’ve saved, or new jars or tins, and put the mixture into them.
Keep on your dressing table or in the bathroom cabinet. Rub on in place of your normal moisturiser and watch your skin glow!
